Foreign Reciprocal License procedure
Here’s a step-by-step guide to obtaining a reciprocal license in India:
Step 1: Obtain an Indian Visa
- Apply for an Indian visa at the Indian embassy or consulate in your home country
- Ensure you have a valid visa before proceeding with the reciprocal license application
Step 2: Obtain NOC and Letter from a Local Ham
- Find a local ham radio operator in India willing to provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC)
- The NOC should be accompanied by a letter and a copy of the ham’s Aadhaar card
- Preferably, find a ham with a registered address in India
Step 3: Passport
- Submit a copy of your valid passport
Step 4: Local Ham License
- Submit a copy of your local ham radio license
- Clearly mention the validity period of the license (number of years)
Step 5: Duly Filled Application
- Fill out the reciprocal license application form accurately
- Ensure all required fields are completed
Step 6: Local Country ID Proof
- Submit a copy of your local country ID proof (e.g., USA social security ID)
Step 7: Photograph (Hard Copy)
- Submit a hard copy of your recent photograph
Step 8: Bharatkosh Payment (₹1000/-)
- Make the required payment of ₹1000/- through the Bharatkosh portal
Additional Requirements:
- Ensure all documents are attested by the concerned authorities (if required)
- Submit the application and supporting documents to the Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) wing of the Ministry of Communications, Government of India
